China Camp

Well I know china camp isn't all that remarkable, but what is remarkable is
that i got out to ride at all today. My brother and I are moving my mom
and it was a weekend of boxes and packing. However we finished early
today so I went over to China Camp.
Much to my surprise, despite being a perfect day (temp 75) there really
weren't that many cars around. I've seen more on a Tuesday. So I
hopped on the bike and went for a spin. It felt gooood - I haven't been
able to ride for 1.5 weeks!! I went up to the tippy top then on the road
back to the trail I missed the trail turnoff (Not Recommended) and ended up
flying down a lot of that paved road. It's just as much a bitch to
climb from further down as it is near the top. But then the fun began,
and I was feeling in a groove and was just flying down the trails. I
couldn't help but think of what Fred had said about China Camp because I
definitely had a BIG goofy grin on my face going down the trail.
Even though there were not that many people there, evidently the clueless
contingent were out. I had to stop and help 3, count em, 3 guys who had
broken down/had mechanicals and had no tools. I banked up on good karma
points today. I managed not to run into any deer. And I had fun racing a
couple of people i met along the way. I finished just as the light got
low and felt kind of achy - the odometer was at over 22 miles (and it had been
off for a section after helping one of the guys). I couldn't believe
it.
What a blast! For what is usually a routine ride, I had one of those
days. Am hoping to return soon with erich if i get some lights (and
woulnd't it be great if I get my Juliana soon - "2 more weeks".)
