SWD does in fact continue to exist, although obviously in a different form than before. A couple of us longtime friends of Steve and SWD racers have been working over the past year to complete unfulfilled orders and to get the company up and running again. We have just completed our first 2009 protoype 216, our buddy Adam did a write-up of it on mtbr: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=494669
Sorry that we didn't get the info up here first; this is all very recent. We will get pictures of the complete bike in a couple of days.  
As for warranty, none of us working on the project now were not involved in the fabrication of existing frames, so unfortunately we cannot warranty someone else's work. So if you have issues with your bike, your warranty is limited to a discounted rate on a new frame from us.
