totem too big for 6 gun?
10/15/08 at 16:23:59

I've got a Kowa 150 ss on there now and its great but the crown just barely clears the downtube. Barely. Anyway, I want to throw a totem coil on there, is it too long axle to crown? will it rake things out too much? thanks

Yup, unfortunately it'll rakeout the head angle too much.
If you're able to find a way of reducing the travel to 150/160mm then it'd be fine to run. But at 180mm its just too long axle to crown. Totem travel reduction is possible but not through RockShox as they say it'd void the warranty.
Even a RS Domain at 160mm should be fine.

A Fox 36 is the perfect fork.  I know quite a few people running a 36 up front and it's just right.

By the way, just saw you PM'd me.  I'll respond right away.
